Some guy got hold of Minorin’s Contact, yet the official album release should be within 5-6 hours or so. Lucky dude.

I got to have a full early preview (And I guess many of you already had; courtesy of Minorin, Lantis and the guy above), and first thing: Minorin’s Contact has lived up to my expectations. I can describe Contact in three words: Dynamic and energized. Lovely vocal work from Minorin, especially the exploration of her range together with various music styles (I detected about two-three genres). The instrumentals very well compliment her voice, especially the violin instrumentals (as usual ^^). My favourite upbeat tracks would be the somewhat full version of Shijin no Tabi - 詩人の旅 (02) and Futari no Reflection - ふたりのリフレクション (03). The only slower ones would be Dears ～ゆるやかな奇跡～ (5) and truth gift (12).


01 Contact - The intro of the album with a very electronic beat, starting with Minorin doing some marvelous vocal warm-ups, ending with instrumentals to the next track.

02 詩人の旅 - Lovely, Minorin’s voice shines here, with her singing lower a bit than her usual range, and then her adding in her distinctly powerful higher pitch at intervals. One word to describe her voice: energy! Edit: I agree with most people that the cut up intro takes away a big impact off the song. Where did the lovely piano piece go? I have being resorting to listening starting from Contact and then into Shijin no Tabi to have a more complete experience of Shijin no Tabi. But meh, will have to get the full version on Minorin’s PV when it comes out.

03 ふたりのリフレクション - Upbeat! Minorin plays around with a higher pitch here, complimented by the fast bass.

04 純白サンクチュアリィ - Junpaku Sanctuary. Period.

05 Dears ～ゆるやかな奇跡～ - Minorin goes slower with beautiful vocal intonations in this track.

06 Cynthia - Feels very retro.

07 sleeping terror - I can feel the goth in this. Includes heavier strings, and Minorin singing sultry.

08 too late? not late… - Heavy strings here too.

09 夏を忘れたら - Reminds me of the beach straight away! Summer lalala! XD Minorin’s very playful here.

10 mezzo forte - Very dynamic, as it’s title suggests.

11 君がくれたあの日 - Kimi ga Kureta Anohi! Fast, dramatic and climatic.

12 truth gift - Nice slow song from Minorin, and a departure from her usual style. Guitar riffs present.

Translation left to the pros, since I can only get about 30% of what’s Minorin singing about.

My conclusion: What an album I missed out preordering! I’m already crying, because CDJapan’s already sold out their First Press edition. Even the 3000 yen + poster will not justify the worth of the album enough. I’ll somehow scrape up some money and get this album asap. I got to admit, that even though I have not heard much of Minorin’s earlier work (Heroine etc), her current work is impressing me very much. Shows how well her voice and emotional communication control has improved from 1 year ago. Minorin’s currently on loop for 6 hours++ and counting. And I’m messing with my Momentum report, not finishing it, while blogging this post.
