The Spring Charity Fashion Show was co-organized by SAMS as well the Swinburne Young Entreprenuer’s Club and Swinburne Choir Club. Held on the 24th January at the Kuching Civic Centre Event Hall, the show showcased various spring themed fashion as well as bridal fashion in support of the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society.

Planning was hectic, and most of the SAMS members were too busy to attend meetings. Thanks to swing for the designs! But by God’s grace, we suddenly had a number of SAMS members turning up to help prepare and decorate the venue. Ryu, Kwang Young, Aaron, Lance, serene, Kimberly, videl, Anna, Mika, Ajay, Bunnie, Adrian, Doris, ngumbang as well as photographers nerdrazor and rollakid made themselves available for the day before and the day itself to help make the event a grand one. Thanks SAMS members! Below is the product of your efforts!

Our models are students of Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus. They are not professionals, and only had sufficient training hours before the event. Nevertheless, they were impressive.

The event MCs were Kok Chung and Chai Tyng, students of Swinburne.

Below is the dude I had been working with for the past 2 months. Mr. Robert Chung was the head organizing chairperson for the event. Enjoyed working with him ^^

Our specially invited guest, TB Datuk Yong Khoon Seng, giving his maiden speech. Mentioned some interesting things, but I have already forgotten about them.

Without anymore speeches, lets start with the fashion showcases! Pictures straight on till the end! If you’re wondering where the heck am I, I was behind the curtains most of the time coordinating our backstage SAMS members. During our interludes between the showcases, we had song performances by local talent Hua Beng and Ms. Fara, as well as dance performances by Tyng Studios and local primary school SJK Chung Hua N0. 6. Mr. Kenny Sia also made an appearance as an invited guest and gave a speech

So far, the clothes that went through the catwalk looks very 70ish. Especially with the guys. Next up, the bridal showcase. Now, this part really blew my expectations away, wherbey  France Taipei Bridal Palace and Genesis Bridal Studio put up an impressive outfit display.

That’s about the whole event. Really enjoyed working in both scenes.

Exhausted after two days of full events. Exhilaration is in the air though! Time to celebrate!
