Why the boob shots?

I noticed a lot of on-purposed video panning on minorin’s mune. I’m guessing I become sensitive to these things, after reading j1m0ne’s post on seiyuu boobs. OH GEASS NO!

This will be a short review on minorin’s 1st Live Tour 2008 DVD, which was out a few weeks back. Pre-ordering does come in handy, and delivers well.

Generally, minorin’s final concert in Tokyo on her first tour lives up to expectation. The main highlight was minorin performing Fragment ~Shooting star of the origin~ live. I listened to the song first time on Youtube, and probably the one song which got me started on minorin. Amazingly nice, though the guitarist’s solo pretty damaged it a bit. D: Another highlight was the bass/drum/guitar solo during Natsu wo Wasureta, especially the bass. I’m a bassist… so yea.

Vocals wise, I can’t say anything else but major improvement for minorin! Not forgetting, minorin’s hand gestures… You either love them or love them more. They’re just so… lovely. For costumes, minorin reused her Message 01, Contact and Animelo 2007 costumes, in order. They still fit her well and still bring out her elegance and beauty. Combine all these together, you’ll get the minorin live experience.

I have to point out that the concert hall and stage had really, really fantastic lighting. Lighting was amazing, spotlights used very well to effect and really brought out minorin’s image and feel on stage. Great job, Mr. Lighting Director!

Now, to the more itemised list. Most, if not all tracks from Kimi ga Kureta Ano hi, Junpaku Sanctuary, Contact, the Contact 13th disc and Melty tale storage were performed in this order:

  1. Contact
  2. Shijin no Tabi
  3. Peace of mind ~Ningyo no Sasayaki~
  4. Futari no reflection
  5. Cynthia
  6. Fragment ~Shooting star of the origin~
  7. sleeping terror
  8. Junpaku Sanctuary ~Acoustic version~
  9. Dears
  10. mezzo forte
  11. Natsu wo Wasureta
  12. Last Arden
  13. Kimi ga Kureta Ano hi
  14. too late? not late…
  15. Junpaku Sanctuary
  16. truth gift

Encore

  1. Shiijin no Tabi
  2. Melty tale storage
  3. Contact 13th

All minorin’s slower tunes have gone up a few levels in my book, and I mean all. Hearing them being performed live is just so different and the experience so sweet. Junpaku Sanctuary acoustic version was at first a bit underwhelming, but I’m starting to like it.

As for the faster minorin beats, all of them were deliciously delivered. If I were to chose the best, I’ll stick with my favourite minorin track, Junpaku Sanctuary. But all of them were indeed great. Even Melty tale storage sounded really good on stage.

minorin ended up half choked with emotion performing Contact 13th, with her fans so overwhelmingly overwhelming. you get minorin fans screaming for minorin all the second. Lively energetic crowd. Combined with the excellent band, made me want to get up and wave my imaginary glowstick as well. Oh yea, I really liked the bassist’s performance… he was probably the one who was jumping the most in the whole concert running his bass like crazy.

And to say the very least, this is something a minorin fan must not miss out. minorin’s dvd can be purchased here at CDJapan!

You can head over to townberry’s blog for scans of the DVD booklet. Needless to say, all the images inside are gems not to be missed.

The DVD also came with a promo poster. Isn’t as good as what was given out together with Message 01, but I finally have a minorin poster to put up in my room! minorin <3<3<3
